After drinking only a small amount of alcohol, his cheeks become red and he goes into a drunken rage, picking fights with friends and foes alike. Lee is a natural prodigy of the Drunken Fist. Users have no conscious awareness of what actions they'll take, which also means opponents can't predict what they'll do. Because they are intoxicated, users move irregularly and erratically they attack with no warning and defend with unconventional motions. Drunken Fist: This is a style of taijutsu that is only possible while the user is very drunk.After all, the purpose of this fighting style is to cause external damage and break bones, smashing one’s opponent. While the Gentle Fist relies on quick, precise strikes, the Strong Fist relies on physically overpowering your enemy through powerful strikes and kicks, focusing on strength rather than speed. The Strong Fist has been classified as being the exact opposite of the Gentle Fist, which is a fighting-style used by the Hyuga Clan. Under Guy’s tutelage, Lee learned various taijutsu techniques that he applied through his fighting style, The Strong Fist. It’s thanks to Guy’s training that Lee was able to keep up with ninja prodigies such as Sasuke Uchiha and Gaara of the Sand. To help reach this goal, he received the support of his teacher, Might Guy, Konoha’s greatest taijutsu master. Taijutsu: Due to not being able to use either ninjutsu or genjutsu, Lee decided to train purely in taijutsu to prove he can still be a great ninja despite these limitations.In fact, Lee has no talent with ninjutsu or genjutsu, to the point that he can’t perform either of them like most shinobi can. However, unlike many other shinobi, Lee doesn’t have any affinity for any chakra element.
While anything capable of using chakra can use non-elemental chakra, they also have an affinity to a certain element, allowing them to give elemental properties to their techniques, boosting power and efficiency. Though other methods exist, Hand Seals are the main way to channel chakra through 361 different points over the body so it can be manipulated to perform a variety of acts like walking on water, ceilings or sheer cliffs, creating elemental attacks, creating illusions, etc. It's basically a cross between chi and stamina as the two are directly linked. Chakra: Chakra is the physical and spiritual energy located in every cell of the body and gained through exercise and experience.Through perseverance and just plain old stubbornness, Lee pushed on and proved to himself and the world that he was truly a great ninja. This enabled a sort of rebirth for Lee, and he trained harder than ever to truly prove the naysayers wrong and become the ninja that his mentor Guy would always hope he would be. Lee didn’t give in and eventually Tsunade healed his injuries. Though Gaara was prevented from killing him, Lee suffered heavy injuries from the fight, and it was recommended that he should retire from being a ninja. However, tragedy would strike when Gaara used his sand to crush Lee’s left arm and leg. He even managed to give the strongest genin in the exams, Gaara, a run for his money, nearly winning if it wasn’t for Gaara’s split decision thinking. Lee would later participate in the Chunin Exams, where he showed off his truly impressive strength and speed to everyone, proving hard work can be a valid substitute for raw talent. Lee managed to activate five of these gates by the age of 12, but kept it a secret from everyone besides Guy. Eventually, Guy decided to train Lee in the use of a technique that most ninja were not able to use due to how dangerous it was: the Eight Gates. Lee would be taught powerful techniques of taijutsu including the Strong Fist fighting style. He decided to train Lee, recommending that he put everything and more into his taijutsu skills. Neji dismissed this, but their sensei, Might Guy, took an interest in him. Lee vowed to everyone that he would become a powerful ninja without using ninjutsu or genjutsu. He made it his mission to prove them wrong, and become his own “splendid ninja.”Īfter he managed to graduate from the Academy, he was placed into Team Guy along with Neji Hyūga and Tenten. Most people thought that Rock Lee had no chance of becoming a proper shinobi. He was mocked for this lack of talent considering how commonplace such abilities were. Young Lee wasn’t like the others, as he completely lacked the ability to employ ninjutsu and genjutsu. Born in Konoha, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, Lee had a rough time at the Ninja Academy.
